Quick Energy Saving tips
Here are a few quick tips to get started. Some of them might sound familiar but we think they are worth noting because small changes make big differences over the long term.
- Change incandescent light bulbs to L.E.D. light bulbs. (Make sure to check the warmth of the lights, bulbs that are 2700 kelvin are a warm light and not too white.)
- Install a programmable thermostat.
- Run only full loads in your washing machine and dishwasher.
- Turn off the heat dry setting on your dishwasher.

- Hang dry laundry when you have that option.
- Check your faucets and toilets for leaking. (Put a few drops of food colouring in the tank, leave it for …, and check to see if the water in the bowl is coloured. This is how you can see if your toilet is wasting water.)
- Turn off unnecessary lights and use natural light or task lighting when possible.
- Consider replacing any single-pane windows for double-panes. (Even properly sealed single-pane windows will allow some energy to escape. Replacing these with double-pane windows can make a big difference and keep out drafts.)
